Software Support Organization Conformance

BC Professional and Software Compliance Standards are to be used by Software Support Organizations in developing HL7v3 applications to interface with PharmaNet-eRx.  These Standards are an adjunct to the implementation guides published by the pan-Canadian Drug Information Standards Group (CeRx) and the National E-Claims Standard Initiative (NeCST), both of which align with Canada Health Infoway’s national standards for Electronic Health Records.  The Infoway national standards for interfacing with Client and Provider registries will also be used.

The PharmaNet-eRx Professional and Software Compliance Standards documentation is intended for software developers, health care Providers, administrators and other health care professionals who share responsibility for implementing compliant software in their organization.

The first release of the set of BC Professional and Software Compliance Standards documents are available to view or download.

Picture a child in Williams Lake who has severe kidney problems and needs to travel to the lower mainland six times each year for treatment.

What if she could receive treatment in her own community?

For that child, telehealth will have an impact on how she receives health care, and could lessen the disruption in her and her family's life.

Telehealth will allow the child to go to school and reduce missed work time and travel expenses for her parents.
