The No-Charge Psychiatric Medication Plan
The No-Charge Psychiatric Medication Plan (Plan G) is available to individuals of any age who are registered with a mental health service centre and who demonstrate clinical and financial need.
The patient's physician and the local mental health service centre determine
eligibility and submit an application
form to PharmaCare.
For more information on the plan, please contact your physician or local mental health service centre, listed in the telephone directory's blue pages under "Health Authorities."
The Plan G Formulary lists the medications available under the No-Charge Psychiatric Medication Plan by both brand and generic name. Drugs in the formulary identified as "Limited Coverage" require prior Special
Authority approval from PharmaCare. For these medications, the patient's physician must submit a Special Authority Request to PharmaCare.
The limited coverage Plan G medications are also listed below. To see the Special Authority criteria or download the Special Authority forms for these medications, click on the drug's generic name.
