British Columbia

B.C. Cancer Agency
Providing leadership in cancer prevention, research and treatment in British Columbia since 1935. Cancer services include: prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, supportive care, education, rehabilitation, and palliative care through provincial programs and regional cancer centres in Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, the Southern Interior, and on Vancouver Island.

 
B.C. Centre of Excellence for Women's Health
The mandate of the Centre is to facilitate research on the social determinants of health for marginalized women.

 
Children's and Women's Health Centre of British Columbia
Made up of BC's Children's Hospital, BC's Women's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. As a teaching hospital and major provincial resource, C&W has three main roles: patient care, education and research.

Federal Women's Health Bureau
The activities of the Women's Health Bureau are intended to enhance the responsiveness of the Canadian health system generally to the health needs and concerns of women in all their diversity, in keeping with the Beijing Platform for Action and the Federal Plan for Gender Equality.

 
Status of Women Canada
Status of Women Canada (SWC) is the federal government agency which promotes gender equality, and the full participation of women in the economic, social, cultural and political life of the country. SWC focuses its work in three areas: improving women's economic autonomy and well-being, eliminating systemic violence against women and children, and advancing women's human rights.

College of Midwives of British Columbia (CMBC)
The College of Midwives of British Columbia (CMBC) is the regulatory body for the profession of midwifery British Columbia. It was established in March 1995 when the provincial legislature proclaimed the Midwives Regulation under the Health Professions Act.

 
Planned Parenthood of British Columbia
This site provides education, information, and clinic services to individuals, groups, and communities in B.C. to prevent unplanned pregnancies and promote optimal reproductive health.

 
Planned Parenthood of Canada
